- BobboExplorer IIWFCO would not be what we would recommend, but you have it. For now.
In a few years, when the WFCO dies, or when you get tired of never getting the boost voltage, come back and we will recommend a good converter/charger. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIWell if there was flame then it likely was not a fusable link.. Fire Extinguisher (I have 4 here) is a good thing, knowing how to use 'em (Seems you do) is also good. Have always felt best place to be in a fire is .. Elsewhere, but when the fire is small that might not apply.
Still recommend a Progressive Dynamics 9200 as the replacement. - Never heard a WFCO on fire and the steady voltage with or without a battery should be a step up. Not to mention the far improved distribution. 8955 should work fine.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerYou replaced a Rottweiler with a Pit Bull. Oh well not all of these things catch fire.
14.4 volts .0000000000001% of the running time
13.2 volts .0000000000001% of the running time
Guess that leaves 13.6 volts - thewilsonsExplorerthis is the one I bought to replace it http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BC9ABS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
- thewilsonsExplorerThere was a full on flame before I spayed it with the fire extinguisher. It was working when it was on fire to.

Best suggestion: Progressive Dynamics 9200 to replace. - thewilsonsExplorer

That looks just like it. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerTriad Utrad made decent transformers.
Problems arose when they tried to subvert the transformer output.
I laughed 'till I hurt when I disassembled my Magnetek 775-2 ferroresonant charger. T/U decided on 25-amp 50PIV 1/2" press fit rectifiers, and electrolytic capacitors that just barely met peak voltages.
That company needed keepers with whips in the engineering dept. and I imagine that farce never changed until they stopped making anything but transformers again. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIConverter looked like an old Magnetek or one like it.> Also appears what burned was a fuseable link.
