Rjxj, isn't the Bogart 2030 controller only rated for 30 amps? Arten't you over that with your 520 watts?
Do you have a thread and/or pics of your setup?
I've heard Bogart will upgrade my Trimetric 2025 to a 2030 if I but a controller off them, not sure if that's true or not. I had to fish the outside wall to put the trimetric where it is, getting abother cable up to it might be a problem, I'll have to investigate...
Not sure what's going on with Ebay, those Cynergy 130's are $960 a pair now, Solar Blvd doesn't show them on their website, they show the 120's and the 140's which are 40 x 40, hard to fit up top.
how you like the (made in India) Cynergy's, quality seems ok?
My panels are about 29 amps max but it will probably never see that especially with being flat. I talked to Bogart and he said that if over powered the controller will limit it at 28 amps. The literature says 31 amps. I would normally size any electrical component at 80 % or less but they said it will work and not overheat.
Yes I noticed the prices on eBay now. They must be near the end of their stock on that panel and punishing any stragglers who thought they would try one or 2 and order more later????
Watch for sales. I guess time will tell as to the quality of cynergy. I probably wouldn't be afraid to run 600 watts but talk to Bogart first.
If these panels lasted 3 years it would be worth it to me. I consider batteries and stuff to be no different than another tank of diesel fuel.
Its sunny today and 3 panels are in full sun. Its returned 48 amp hours at 14.3 v and the controller is just warm. 88% full. 335 watts input with the 4th panel pretty much shaded.
I have been camping in a clearing in tall hardwoods for the last 12 days. Tuesday and Wednesday had rain and I was down 100 amp hr so I ran the gen for an hour and 45 minutes yesterday which brought it back to a neg 38 ah or so. I wanted it to stay a little high so I could see how it does today.
Its now returned 51 ah. With what the rig (wife) is drawing right now it is putting 23.5 amps back in.
I love this stuff. I came up with a very good generator charging system because of the good people on here and now I also have a good solar system. Thanks everyone.
