The combiner where the ammonia is absorbed into the water freezes at ~28°F.
To prevent this, I use a 60 Watt lamp and a Thermocube® to heat the refrigerator compartment to ~40°F and block off 2/3 of the lower vents with a piece if corrugated paper (aka cardboard).

No problems, even when the OAT is below -20°F.
