I must've been in a hurry when posted the response below. My apologies. I had it in my head that you were discussing the merits of panels vs. LED bulbs.
The flat SMD LEDs replaced those little bulbs a little while back. The old glass covered ones like that were generally pretty low in output. I have no experience with the panels you posted. But it sounds like you may have begun to answer some of your own questions regarding individual LED types. Good work!

If the panels will fit, they will generally place a little more of the light they produce... where it's needed most.
