If you're on shore a lot, then most of the time, your converter is going to be limited to voltages in the mid 13s. Personally... I wouldn't trip.
Now back in the day (last year) when each fixture of decent quality was more like 25 bucks... well...
And when camping, a lot of the genny time SHOULD be during the daylight hours anyway.
That said... we're still in somewhat uncharted territory here. Consider yourself a true trailblazer and enjoy your new LEDs!
