40 dollars divided by 12 years = 4 dollars a year and the items are like new. Driving to the store to buy replacements exposes me to $3.75 a gallon gasoline.
The second hand stores I visited had predatory customers who flogged the doors at opening to rush in and buy the good stuff. For resale. A few dozen gallons of gasoline wasted convinced me this form of thrift was a loser in my instance.
Any time I get NEAR my rig or automobile it costs me money. (Seven exploded tires later the person who yells "They're 100% Warrantied And Cost Half As Much!" raises my eyebrows).
