Well what is strange is that there is very little visible sulfate on the plates. It has been staying in the mid 14's for at least 5 hours each day.
But it is not getting the daily 15.3v USbattery recommended "finishing" charge, out of deference to the AGM and my inability to always be around to flip switches or test SG in the afternoon.
Just checked again. Taking 2.07 amps to hold 15.5v
1.265, 1.270, 1.260. Electrolyte less 'warbly' looking. bubbling more vigorously than before. A shadow inches from the solar panel. Don't know how much longer I can keep voltages in this range.
Ask Mex Wanderer what you need for amps from your charger, probably at least 10 amps, and capable of getting that battery to 16.0V, with you watching it while it gets there. You will bring the battery acid to a really low roil doing it. That's what it took on my group 24, and it's also what it took while massaging a couple of T-1275s. 10% of the amp hour capacity in a charger, and the ability to get to 16.0V, then you shut her down. Let it sit overnight after you get to 16.0V, unhooked and take a SG reading then, in the morning.
Yes, it takes some babysitting to do it right. Have to keep an eye on that voltage climb to 16.0, then shut 'er down and wait before reading the SG.
