I fear an Algodones trip is in my Future. Only been a decade since I went to a dentist.
A Tuesday Dipping, as on Saturday and Sunday I was parked in the shade for the most productive hours. Like underground type of shade where the controller is off, like at night.
14.9ABSV and 15.1v F has been the regimen. same overnight usage, 25 to 45 a/h average mid 30's. Daytime temps mid to high 70's overnight lows mid 60's
Today I checked when it was taking 1.8 amps to hold 15.1v
1.265, 265, 270
About 45 minutes at 16v( 6.2 amp initially required) to get me up near 1.290 and 4.6 amps were still going in at that point.
The electrolyte level was just above the half way mark between tops of plates and bottom of split rings.
I removed battery from tray, requiring some 30 degree tipping and a few curses. The SG on the cell closest to the (+) terminal was near 1.300, the other 5 in the 1.290 range when adjusted for temp.
Took about 3 large bulb squeezes sucking in distilled water right from jug, to top off each cell to right below the split rings. I really assumed they were going to need more h20 than this. My former Crowns always needed much more water and much more often.
This is the first watering since December. I bought it in November and topped it off before leaving the batteries unattended, unused for a few weeks over the holidays.
After topping off, I took SG measurements. 1.235 on most of them.
I tipped and wiggled and shook the battery back into place and bolted it down, removed the caps and took another reading. Still at 16v, 1.235. I did 2 dozen bulb squeezes. 1.235.
30 minutes later at 16v, taking 4.2 amps, 1.250.
Unsure whether I should continue the eq cycle.
Any guesses as to what max SG will now be?
I'll not cycle the 31 tonight and check again tomorrow to account for SG lag.
