Ok, I was just investigating the process of lowering the battery tray. best done with battery removed. When I lifted the battery out, I felt the heat radiating from it.
It has been up at 14.9 for at least 3 hours, amps had tapered only to 6.3. It had been shallowly cycled the night before.
The Cells in the middle of the battery were 118F, the outer two were only 103.
Ambient 75F, no more.
Perhaps this battery is now dangerous to keep cycling. I think I'll lower max voltage to 13.8 if I do return it to cycling.
I'll go dip the Hydro now.
