Excellent post from the OP! I just installed a pair of Renogy 100w panels and Solar30 controller in early May and, with my twin GC2 Trojans, had no issues on a 3 day dry camp weekend. This info makes me feel good about my set up. I would also love the Trimetric monitor but also concerned about nads. LOL!
Since the $30 Solar30 only has a single charge setting, I keep it at 14.5 unless plugged into shore power, then I set it to 13.5. It came set at 13.8 if I recall correctly. Sorely tempted to get a Viewstar 30 amp adjustable 3 stage though.
