Just understand that installing all the filters in the world will not change the effects of hard water. Only a water softener will change those rules. Generally, hard water will have no harmful side effects but extremely hard water can clog lines and do damage over a very long time. I recently added a portable water softener to our coach and one of the first side effects was the faucets getting clogged as the soft water started flaking off the hard water and cleaning up the lines and water heater. Now, we don't see much of that any longer and enjoy the soft water at all locations.

I've only been putting a little water softener down my black tank. I'll guess I'll have to research 'portable water softener' unless anyone has a recommendation.
I sure hope it's small, 'cause there isn't much room in my water management compartment.
