Well it seems like the hitch on the front would be the best way to go but since I would need to hire a welder to both build and install it, it's certainly the most expensive way to go.
That swagman bike carrier is actually the type I had in mind and that seems to be a pretty reasonable price too. The main issue with the rack I have now is that each part allows more and more movement because it's not just solid. The adjustable hitch adds movement, the ability to fold back adds more movement, and the ability to fold down adds even more movement. All that on top of the movement of the trailer is just destructive. It seems this rack might take care of that along with holding the bikes so that the frame isn't being rubbed directly where the shifting and braking cables are.
I like the idea of using the cam straps to help immobilize my current rack(That would certainly be the cheapest route)and I think it would at least be worth a shot. However I'm not sure where I could attach them. There are some pictures below, any ideas? Thanks for the replies so far.
