or use a DROK voltage buck booster as an intermediate step what i need is a charge controller that controls the V+ output the majority of controllers use common connection for all the Plus connect...

I did all of 2014 and so far in 2015 with the Eco-Worthy 20amp MPPT controller. Have a single 24v panel in a contraption that is tilted and twirls. Had a 230w now have a 255w panel.
I tried running the 24v panel with PWM on a 24v battery bank and it did the same as MPPT 24-24, but both did a little better than 24-12 MPPT. (efficiency of controller with buck converter) However it was not worth the bother to go 24-24 compared with 24-12, so I am using 24-12 MPPT and getting by ok.
Meanwhile, JiminDever, having talked me into this whole thing, is now somewhere camping up on Pike's Peak with himself and his DW on oxygen masks, trying to get some broken down 8Ds to work with his fancy $6000 (might have been $600) controller strapped to his laptop on life-support, using a Mex Gizmo to make it all happen!
My Great Leader has left me in his wake, and I cannot keep up. Still, the rest of us ordinary RVers have to carry on somehow! :)
