I remember few years ago someone mentioned how to replace cheap manual thermostat to digital thermostat -- hunter brand. I tried to search but nothing came up. Need a link. Many thanks!
Several different wiring schemes due to different OEM t-stats.
Here is 'Coleman Mach' to Hunter AND Dometic (Duo Therm) to Hunter

I did this mod yesterday with a ACE Hardware 4115176 stat. Turned out to be a LUX re-branded. I used option 1 on page 2 and everything works just fine. Thanks for the link!
Mike - Dave_H_MExplorer IILooks like you got plenty of info to read up on the how to.
For me personally, I learned something the hard way. First Hunter I installed did not have the lighted background when you hit a button. No good in an unlighted situation. The second one I installed has the lighted background and I think that feature is the hot set up for me. - Dusty_RExplorerHome electronic programable thermostats use 24 VAC and battery back up. RV electronic programable thermostats need to run on batteries. Both types are available at big box places.
- Sfla2Explorerthis is even better

- naturistNomadI can only assume you have exactly the same thermostat I had and are replacing it with exactly the kind I used.
(1) remove the cover of the old one
(2) remove the two screws holding it on the wall
(3) disconnect the two wires and trash the old thing
(4) connect the two wires
(5) screw the two new screws into the wall
(6) insert batteries and place new cover
Use any household thermostat that strikes your fancy from any manufacturer. They all do exactly the same thing.
There is no magic required, thermostats, whether complex digital or the cheapest of mechanical, all do exactly the same thing: at sme temperature, they connect the two wires to turn the furnace on, and at some very small higher temperature, they disconnect those same two wires to turn the furnace off. The thermostat itself may be a marvel of electronic wizardry, but the connections to the wall and the furnace remain so very basic that anyone can do this job, no advanced scientific degrees needed. If you understand the 'lectric comes in on one wire and leaves on the other, and screws are not installed/removed with a hammer, you can handle this job.
