I have done many repairs of the door jam harness over the years at the shops I have worked at, the best thing is to replace the wire at least 6 inches ether side of the door jam and the door so the splice is not in the moving part of the doors rubber boot, and the repair will last about as long as the original harness. while you have it apart, inspect all the other wires as well, and give them a tug and see if they break too if they only have a couple of strands left holding..
