If the plastic plunger pulled out you simply can push the plunger back in.
The plunger however only goes in a specific way, you will need to rotate the plunger and try again until it latches in.
If the cable broke then you just need to buy a new cable/plunger which can be found at any RV parts dealer or even some auto parts places or try a Uhaul.
If the plastic top of the plunger where the cable connects broke then you will need to buy a new plunger and cable.
