My old converter doesn't push that kind of voltage (14 V +)but the solar is programmable up to 15V. If I want to do an equalization, I use my shop charger.
In storage, I have both banks, 3 x AGM and 2 X FLA connected in parallel. I could run a shore cord to the trailer and float the batteries on the converter but the solar does a better job than anything I can do.
What is the issue with the Iota? Sometimes, a converter repair is simple.
That is what I've been doing up until now but both my converter and solar controller appear to have failed as I described in a previous post (http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28901960.cfm)
Basically the Iota converter only puts out between 6 and 7 volts open circuit. I'd love to avoid buying a new converter but I'm not sure what else to do. I didn't bring my B&D portable charger on this trip as I had to leave suddenly. So I bought a cheap 10a charger to keep the batteries topped off until I get home.
