If you are considering the more expensive MPPT then you may save money on large 24v panels if you have the space. Measure carefully as any shade from roof items will severly limit power. This applies to 12v or 24v panels.
230w 24v panel can be close to $160 vs 140w 12v at $175. Use a local supplier to avoid big shipping cost of the large panels.
You would need to abandon the existing 50w if you went 24v.
