Never Fail Spring bushings

Has anyone install Lippert Never Fail spring bushings or similar type bushings? After seeing some stock bushings wear out at 6000 miles, I'm considering installing new long life bushings.
How much labor did you pay if you had someone install them?

  • you will know when they are worn...that's when the squeaking starts.
  • All of the standard plastic bushings in our last TT were completely shot in just the 2,000+ mile delivery trip from Indiana to our dealer on the west coast. Not impressed with these bushings. I would hazard a guess that there are a lot of trailer owners running around with bad bushings and won't know until something doesn't seem right or fails. For the cost of the Never Fail bushings, not sure why they don't just install them in the first place. (Wait, I do know...)

Before installing any type/brand of new bushings, if it were me, I'd want to check the spring hangers for correct mounting/location and any other potential suspension/frame issues that could possibly lead to damaging new bushings.
  • It takes some effort and the right set of tools. Did minet home, nut then again I have a fairly complete set of tools. First off, you need to support the trailer safely, remove the wheels, then you need several jacks under the axles, plus an assortment of pry bars to work things back into position.
  • Assuming my old bushings must be shot, I recently replaced all my bushings with bronze components and to my surprise, there were never fails in there.
They had about 50K miles on them and the only one that was starting to fail was the top one in the equalizer on both sides.
So they hold up very well.
