Dometic RM2454. I pulled off the gas burner assembly cover so I can inspect the igniter function as the fridge is turned on. The gap from electrode/igniter tip to the burner assembly is about 3/16" as I read it is supposed to be. The LP gas comes through the burner assembly and the igniter successfully ignites the flame right away. The flame from the assembly looks good and seems to rise into the flue area. However, the igniter keeps clicking for 30 or so seconds after the flame is lit on the burner assembly. Once the clicking stops the flame goes out as if the gas flow stopped.
This apparently means something. What does it mean? Is the gas flow shutting off somehow when it should not be? It seems like the gas flow is shutting off because whatever senses whether the flames was successfully lit is thinking the flame was not lit and it cutting off the gas to avoid an explosion. This make sense except for the fact that the flame is successfully lit and the message to the board is to turn off the gas flow when the gas flow should stay on. So what part is bad here is this situation?
