New Genrac problem

Greetings, my first post.
I've been studying the forum for a couple hours and haven't seen this problem.
Genrac 36LP model 00941-1 works great when using the start switch on the unit, but from the remote start switch, I push and hold the start button, and it cranks for maybe 1 second, stops cranking, as I continue to hold the button down, it will crank again for a couple seconds, stop, then 1 second, stops, then another random length of time. After holding the button for several minutes, it will usually start.
Ive checked for poor connections at the button and where the harness plugs into the generator, and all is fine there.
Has anyone experienced these symptoms? What is my next diagnostic step?
Thanks for any and all help.

  • Possible safety circuit malfunction. Could be low oil, high temp or fail to detect start. The first two are switches, the third is a function of the control board and the generator voltage output frequency.
