New LiFePo tech?

I noticed several companies are now listing 300+Ah LiFePo batteries in the same size housing and and just a few more pounds than the 200Ah versions. It seems to be so new that no reviews have come in yet that I can find. If anyone can find some reviews on these batteries I would like to see them.

The one that I like best is the Flypower since it is rated for 320A continuously with 640A 3-5sec. I don't think that I would ever need that much but I like having the extra head room.

That one battery would fit in the space of just 3 of my 4 GC2 batteries, give me about 3 times as much energy storage and reduce my weight by around 180lbs. The also claim 1C or 320A charging ability so lots of headroom there too.

The ratings on their batteries that have been out a while seem to be very good.

300ah cells are now popping up.

I looked at a deconstruction of a battle born they are using the larger traditional style batteries, but companies are starting to use the prismatic cells now.

  • Prices on Lithium batteries appear to be cracking. Good news!
  • Trojan Trillium 111 is $1,350

Must be the prismatic cells in the FlyPower that adds value.
  • The Trojan Trillium 111AH LFP weighs 30 lbs, so three would be 90 lbs for 333AH. A few lbs saved by not having three battery cases, etc, so the actual LFP "density" would be much the same, looks like.
  • $1450 is a great price. Compare to RELiON at $3,450 for 300 a/h 82 lbs.
  • Wow that battery at 320 ah is only 34K (75 lbs). I think my single GC2 is about 60 lbs. I noticed the $1,500 price though.

Here's to hoping these go the same way as the $1,500 VCR and come down in price to something more affordable. If and when they do I'll certainly be on the band wagon to get one.
