ok, it's a simple PWM type, probably positive ground, but I can't seem to find a manual online for it. so I will suggest you re check the wiring. you have 4 wires, two from the panel and 2 to the battery.. please make sure the wiring polarity is correct as indicated on the controller. also make sure the panel wiring is not grounded.
