That part's still a mystery. CATrav solved the higher voltage at the controller vs. the battery and I think he's correct. A larger wire will solve that. This solar controller is cheap Chinese junk and the docs are terrible. The way I read it, the charge light is suppose to be solid red when bulk charging, flickering when float and off when no charge. It's always solid. It may be passing the high voltage down to the battery I don't know. I'll do some more DVMing today if the voltage gets up to 16.9 again. It will probably spend the entire day charging the bank. I ran the genny for an hour last night to top things off and still had 13v this morning.
