The very first mod I do to a camper is to wire all electronic stuff to the batteries. The refrigerator, the furnace, LED lights, everything. Use you converter as a charger only. But this is coming from a guy who the last time I used shore power was in 1988 at fort wilderness FL. And yes that camper, too was all battery with the converter acting as a charger, when it was plugged in. DO NOT EVER TRUST A CONVERTER TO SUPPLY CLEAN RELIABLE 12 VOLTS!!!!!!!
