The transfer switch is for the 120 VAC system--switches between generator and shore power.
Your problem is likely either a battery fuse if you have one or the DC Battery Disconnect switch has been turned off. When plugged in you are getting 12 volts from the converter. When you pull the plug the 12V is gone because the converter has no input.
What is the year, make and model of your rig? Someone here likely has one just like it and can tell you where to look.
In our current Itasca Horizon the Battery Disconnect switch is on the dash and easy to turn off accidentally. In our former rig it was by the entry door.
