Norcold N1095 refrigerator

Does anyone out there have a Norcold N1095 9-1/2 cu Ft refrigerator. Our fifth wheel came with a 8 cu Ft Dometic . My better half does NOT like it . It seems very small compared to the Norcold 8 cu Ft in our previous Durango. The 1095 is designed to fit the space of a 8 cu ft. Just looking for advise. Thanks
  • Thanks for your replies. Nutinelse and edatlanta. That is the kind of feedback I was looking for. Presently we have a RM2862 in the slide. I have ventilated it outside very well and it does perform much better but my ice cream a little soft and DW is not happy with the small interior. We have had no problem with Norcold in the past. I was concerned if the space age insulation package in the N1095 performs like they say. 2000.00 is a lot of money to say OOPS I think I screwed up .
  • I have the N1095 in my 5'er. The original one that came from the factor died just prior to 4 years. It had a leak in the cooling coils. Fortunately my extended warranty replaced it. While I liked the performance of the original one, the replacement is way better and zero problems for the past 15 months or so. The original one had some issues, but having nothing to compare it to I didn't know it was sub par. I kept both set on 6 and humidity hasn't been a problem. I am on the Florida Gulf Coast where I have been since May and no internal fans are used. It is certainly humid here all the time. Since my Norcold is mounted in a slide there is a fan on the back.
  • We just had one installed July 15th. We had a Dometic rm2862.
I was pretty worried about having problems with it, being as every rv we have owned has had a Dometic, and all the nightmare stories about Norcold.
It fit into the same spot perfectly.
I am VERY happy with the extra room compared to the 8 cu.
The freezer ( no ice maker ) has about 3x the space, and the fridge about 2x the space.
It was an expensive upgrade, but for us, it was well worth it.
Here on the Oregon Coast, I have had to keep it at 1-2, whereas my Dometic it would range between 6-7. We did put a fan on the fins, but have to either add a bigger one, or another one, since it is pretty humid here.
I cannot vouch for high elevation yet. Will be going cross country through very high elevations in 2 weeks. I heard the Norcold has elevation issues.
Time will tell, but as of now, I love the extra room.
    Safe Travels
    Cheryl
  • When we looked at some newer rigs, the double door set up seems to make the refer and freezer compartments smaller then they really are.
  • A fridge is a fridge.. Some have bigger freezers, or different shelves.. What doesn't she like about it?
