Norcold refrigerator

I purchased a used 2010 Montana Mountaineer last fall and have camped with it once last year and once so far this year. While preparing to leave later this week for another trip I turned the Refrigerator on 6 hours ago and as of right now the freezer is at 10 degrees and the refrigerator section is at 60 degrees. I am concerned that there is a problem but was wondering if any one has a suggestion on what I should check. I did check the fan in the outside chase and it is working.
  • Most folks I know start up their gas refrigerator the night before. I start up my Vest Frost 2 hours before I load it.

Food section should start cooling down now that freezer section has gotten cold

Freezer section sucks up majority of cooling first so very little heat transfer can occur in food section until freezer gets down in temps.

If in 2 more hours you do not see food section temp drop THEN you may have issues

    Patience :B

I know, patience is hard when you are getting ready to load and go.
  • I do have a battery fan in the refrigerator already, but thanks for helping, I appreciate the hint.

  • RV Absorbsion refers take a minimum of 24 hours to reach operating temp. The freezer will get cold faster than the lower section. Doug
  • That seems about normal. A small battery fan inside helps. Give it another 6 hours.
