A millohm meter is USELESS when it comes to verifying the integrity of such a setup.
A carbon pile load tester + accurate ammeter and accurate voltmeter is the only way to "balance" such a system with a faintest hint of accuracy.
Harbor Freight has an inexpensive 500 ampere load tester. Ignore its instrumentation, utilize the variable load. By factoring voltage and amperage VA a person can get serious about balancing a complex bank.
If I HAD to do a 3-bank system without this setup I would use lead coated copper terminals, and seal the heck out of exposed conductors.
