I appreciate your detailed narrative, though mine is a Coleman mach 1 P.S.11k btu (1160 run watts), and ProSine 2.0,your info kinda gives me a helpful performance curve...The ProSine 2.0 (a former Trace design) surge is a phenomenal 4500 for a whopping 5 sec, so even without an autoformer it seems to handle the load without a hitch, though I later added a easystart...Unfortunately the newer Xantrex replacement-equivalent model surge rating (and surge time) is not nearly as robust, and parts are no longer available for mine, so I worry about when the day comes when the ProSine eventually bites the dust...
