- road-runnerExplorer IIIDoes Outback have a new product? Their FX inverter-chargers have had programmable charging mode setpoints and timers from day one. I don't know when day one was other than it was many years ago. While there's no technical reason to not use an FX inverter-charger I don't think they have had much penetration in the RV market. More in marine applications, I believe. The Prosine 2.0 charger appears to have roughly the same configurability. And they both support battery temperature sensors.

Yell loud enough and no one will hear you. It is my sarcasm that engineers fleeing TRACE founded OUTBACK but they immediately gave in to the notion that INCORRECT CHARGING PROFILES were the way to go because the industry was bowing to the notion of PLUG N PAY. The thirty year old TRACE SB charger is far and away light-years ahead of anything on the market now. I am throwing thimble fulls of gasoline on a smoldering notion that maybe too many prematurely failed batteries are no accident. Losing a dozen eleven hundred dollars each cells hurts. Customers tend to yell and even litigate for that kind of money.
Wonder just how far battery design intelligence can progress until stupidity puts the quash on further refinements? Do it yourself charging isn't for everyone, and neither is Plug n Pay. Like Mother Fletcher's Do It Yourself HAM radio, Managing regularly deep cycled (off grid) batteries is not hand's off.
Outback is not cheap stuff. Pucker Up. - wolfe10ExplorerYes, would appreciate a link.
