You can't. The clamp is AC only, as shown on the first three positions. And it also says "AC Clamp Meter" above the display.

It has a vague and somewhat misleading description.

If you read the specs you'll see it just does AC current, not DC current. Which makes it about the same price as lots of others out there.

Funny part is people say they are measuring DC current in the reviews- makes you wonder how valid the reviews are.
My main meter (Fluke 116) doesn't do hi current DC (it does do microamps), so I bought this Tenma to go with it.

I think they lump a lot of those reviews together sometimes. I've seen reviews for a product that is definitely not the item pictured, but is similar.

Sears sells the craftsman 82369 model that has both AC/DC 400AMPs
Looks very similar to what you are showing here...


I have had mine since 2008... Think they run around $60 on AMAZON... Comes with a nice carry case...

I may have to buy another one as I haven't seen mine for a while now... I'm am having fears I was using mine at a camp site and may have left it laying on a tree stump somewhere...

You can find them all day long for $45-60 that check DC current. I thought this one was a real deal until I actually read the fine print. And you can find these all day long too, sure would be nice to find one that did both for that price. Oh well wish in one hand...

My only complaint is it's clamp amp only. The leads can only do volts, ohms, and other stuff I don't use. It reads o.001 amps DC and AC. Has 2 amp, 20 amp, 100 amp settings.

Tenma came well reviewed on another Forum I frequent.
I was thinking this Tenma clamp meter, may be a good addition.

As already noted it does not do DC amps, but it does do DC volts.

Congrats on finding another P.T. Barnum special! I'm sure some unsuspecting folks will buy that meter; there's another one born every minute.
