Does the part the drain bolt is bolted into look expensive?
If it were mine and the extractor worked I'd use it and call it a day.
What you have to check for is a straight shot from the dipstick or fill hole all the way to bottom of the pan. On my extractor it has a smallish semi stiff nylon tube with a slash at the end intended to bottom in the pan. I've used it a lot on small engines lawnmower, generator, etc.
