Ok to run 5500 Onan on 20 amp curcuit?
Does anyone run their 5500 Onan on a 20 amp plug? The Onan manual I have states the running amps well under 20 but I dont know what the start-up amps would be, if its even different.

When I'm at home I plug into a 20 amp receptacle to keep batteries charged . I have ran the ac before but you can't have anything else on.- My Onan 5500 pulls 12VDC from the batteries for startup. When its running, it supplies 120VAC, it does not pull power from any circuit. Is this a serious question?

This post does not make any sense. Period. Doug- Start up amps are from your load. Not the generator. So you need to know how much load you have.
