A 20 lb. bottle holds 20 lb. @ 80%.
One winter day I was helping a neighbor doing some electrical work in his basement. His LP delivery guy came and filled his 500 gallon tank to 100%.
I've often wondered if the 80% rule is just a guide or a rule that has fines.
Some of the Amish in this area fill their own 20lb. tanks.
One winter day one of them filled his 20 pounder and set it inside the kitchen door, if I remember right it was over filled, it was for the LP fired water heater in the kitchen. Also there was a wood burning range there. The LP it that 20 lp. expanded as it warmed up and the safty valve blew off, the fire in the range ignited the LP. No more house.
