Older Heart Inverter/charger Question

A fellow Rver has a new to him Heart inverter /charger a previous owner put in the used 1999 5er. He wanted some help understanding what this is. I haven't seen it myself but he has a photo of the front. (I didn't note the model number, sorry.) Can anybody identify it enough so we can find the manual for it on-line?

It says on the front it is made by Heart , Valley Forge, Kent, WA. It has a warning the output is "non-sinusoidal." Label says it has 1500VA output continuous, and a DC 75 amp charger, with three stage charging.

He says he has only found one button on it on top that turns the inverter on and off when he tried it with a temporary set-up. I said there must be a way to turn the charger on and off, but he doesn't know. He hasn't found any sort of remote panel (yet?)

Not much to go on, but perhaps somebody can help? Thanks.

  • one rocker switch, (2) push button CB's,

charging vs inverting, is automatic, unless the invert function is turned off at the remote,
IF 120vac is/was available the unit was automatically on charge & pass thru of 120v, the unit being a 'combo' contains its own pass thru/transfer relay
IF no 120v then it is on invert (unless turned off)
  • That was the first model of Heart Interfarce inverter I worked on. It is a superb example of why engineers deserted the company and started TRACE ENGINEERING. The hunk I worked on had a data port in the rear for the wall mounted control panel that didn't work right out of the box.

If it works, pray. Keep an eye on charging voltage (if any).
  • Thanks, it could also be the Freedom 15 version of the Fleet 1500 I suppose. Was there just the one switch? If so, how did the charger get turned on or off as the inverter went from shore power/gen to inverter power?
  • we had a 'heart interface freedom 10' it was 50 amp 3 stage charge, 1000watt inverter
master on off rocker switch on the front panel
but to relly turn everything off, you had to turn off the CB feeding the unit, it was hard wired no plug
