I've always used 15W-40 oil in my 2014 Onan 4 KW generator because of its wide temperature range as the manual said. Lost the manual. That oil has BECOME HARD TO FIND LATELY. What grade of oil can I switch to down here in Miami, Florida summers? Thanks :@
Chevron DELO 400 15W-40 and/or Shell Rotella T 15W-40 and/or Mobil Delvac 15W-40 are three of the most common/popular economically priced diesel engine oils which will meet all the specifications for your Onan gas genny. They are widely available in quarts or gallons. I suggest you try a different source. Walmart, Costco, Target, Kmart, O'Reily, NAPA, etc. all carry it, . . . normally. Please lets not get into a gas/diesel oil discussion here. I know that 15W-40 is typically oil specified for diesel engines but it IS what ONAN recommends (that's what comes in the bottle with ONAN's name printed on it) for their gas engine gennys for non arctic use.
