Onan 4 KW Generator oil?

I've always used 15W-40 oil in my 2014 Onan 4 KW generator because of its wide temperature range as the manual said. Lost the manual. That oil haS BECOME HARD TO FIND LATELY. What grade of oil can I switch to down here in Miami, Florida summers? Thanks :@

i wouldn't be doing this, this oil is designed for wet clutches, thus has no friction modifiers.

Ummm...agesilaus provided you with a link to an electronic copy of the manual, something like the one you no longer have. That sure sounds like offering support to me....

If the temperature is not below freezing, SAE 30 (single grade) oil is recommended. SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 are both acceptable for the temperature range of 0° to 100°. (That is according to the document that was kindly linked.)

Edit: mixing grades of oil is not problematic, and you end up with something with intermediate properties. It's rarely worth the effort to try to do it intentionally, though.
