Onan 4K spark arrestor plug won't loosen for removal

Changed my generator oil today and tried to remove the spark arrestor plug on exhaust pipe. Sprayed WD40 and let it sit. Still won't loosen. Square tip is getting deformed from trying. I don't want to break anything. The generator has 150 hours on it and was service by an authorized dealer at 75 hours about 18 months ago. How critical is it to remove and clean it by running the generator for 15 minutes? Not sure if the dealer did the spark arrestor during oil change.

    If you do get it out, be sure to use anti-seize when you reinstall it.

    For what's it's' worth - I have never been able to get that SOB out. Every 5 years of so I run wire brush up their and clean out out some **** - my Generator has been doing fine using that technique since 92.
