I didn't change the air filter, although I did take it out to inspect it and then put it back in.
Is it possible that there are two separate problems, one that overfill caused the breather to blow off (I reconnected it soon afterwards. There wasn't oil all over the place but it sure looked like there was extra gunk / grease / oil on the bottom.), and then (the remaining problem) that the breather tube / mesh are clogged?
I can't imagine that the breather tube is clogged from fresh oil, unless it was almost clogged before.
