When I had that code, it was a slightly low house battery.
Another friend had that code when his mechanical regulator was sticking in the cold weather. A shot of silicone lube on the regulator pivot fixed it.
The codes mean something. Don't shotgun for off-the-wall things when you get an engine speed code.
