I did try running a container (about 12 ounces) of gasoline, with carburator cleaner mixed in, and let it sit for a couple of days. Of course, when the genny will only run for 2 seconds at a time, it takes a while. I've done that half a dozen times in the last year or so, but the thing still won't run.
I'm going to put 12v directly on the shut-off solenoid in the carb to see if I can get it to run long enough to clean things out.
The way the manual is written suggests that the speed measurement is done off the generator electrical frequency, not a direct tachometer transducer. Can anyone verify this?
Fred - the house batts are fully charged as the rig is on shore power. I've checked the output both with shore power on and off, and they're good. at the battery terminals and at the big "B+" terminal on the generator baseplate.
