OP was debating between 15w40 and 20w50.
Plenty of 454 engines in truck fleets running 15w40, and that is what Onan recommends for their gensets.
Interested to hear from OP if there is a special condition as to why they run 20w50 in the 454.
I run the Valvoline 10w-30 VR1 Racing in my 94 Fleetwood Southwind Storm and my 1972 VW bus (Type-4). As for the generator I run a 10w-40 Valvoline VR1.
