My Onan 4500 was surging after 23 years of occasional use. I called a carb guy and he said better to buy a new one, contacted Onan for the kit, no kit according to CS. Everyplace and everyone I went to said buy a new carb. Finally found a kit, the number came from the Onan parts catalog and it came in an Onan package, so much for not being available. Got the carb off and tore it apart, cleaned and blew it off, installed the kit, reinstalled the carb. Needed some adjustment but now runs like a top. I'm an electrician by trade and it was so simple to clean replace the jet, needles and gaskets. Also saved almost $200 in parts.
