Onan generator running issues

Question

Our Onan generator (newly installed in Jan 2020) in our 2003 Dolphin  only starts when using the toggle switch on the generator itself, and then with difficulty. It is prone to shutting itself down after indeterminate periods, ranging from 15 minutes to over an hour. Inverter panel lights up light a blinking Christmas tree. We use the RV for six months of the year in the midwest. Otherwise, it is stored at our home in Arizona. Any suggestions are helpful.

Try unplugging the remote switch wiring at the generator. Then see if the random shutdowns still happen. If they don't, I'd look for a ground short in the remote wiring that may also lead you to the failure to start the generator remotely. Somewhere that the wiring passes over or through a metal grounding surface and has frayed would be what you're looking for.
