Codes 12 and 13 are both voltage issues- over and under, so I would hook a meter to the output to see what the voltage actually is (and ideally, frequency as well). Because it is throwing the errors, that is what is shutting it down.
Does the throttle linkage seem to be OK, and not sticky?
