change the oil. I bought a used trailer and had the same problem. Those gens have a low oil shutoff. Old diluted oil or too light of wgt will not work that sensor. I changed the oil to correct wgt and all was good for 3 yrs till I sold it. When I drained the oil it was thin as water. Give it a try or the sensor may be defective. Good luck.
