Onan nhe 6.5 gasoline gen set

Kind of a simple question that I should know but I have mixed myself up and I don't know. I had been studying all about my genset when I was at home and left all my manuals there by accident. Ok there are two breakers on that genset a 30 amp which is on top and 20 amp below it. What I would like to know right now is this. Which is closed and open. Is it when they are flipped outward that they are tripped or visaversa. I can figure it out in a few days when I get all ready to leave but I would really like to know before that and I don't want to go around disconnecting everything.

Thank you both so much. I am going out to check them out. One thing that seems kind of off about these breakers is that they don't feel the same as a regular house breaker that has obvious resistance at some point, but these seem not to have that. Is that normal?

Good observation, they do feel different.

  • Richard is correct. They pop out at least 1/4" when they trip and you press them back in (close to flush with the housing) to reset them.

  • When they are flipped outward that they are tripped (open).
