One 50Mv 500A shunt, two ammeters?
I've already got a Deltec 500a 50Mv shunt wired into my system for my battery monitor. The issue is I have a desire to see alternator charging amps when driving and my battery monitor is not safely...

I have worked a lot with shunts and meters building load boxes when I was a tech in a switching power supply lab.
I am going to speculate that it will work fine and easy to try.
If the shunt runs at near max rating you might consider a fan as higher temps will affect accuracy but not much.
BTW You can remove material from the shunt to tune it to whatever drop you need.
