First thing is whether the 1000w inverter is really "hard wired" and has an internal transfer switch
Second is whether the 1000w inverter is part of an inverter/charger
Third, you only are on inverter for 120v when not plugged into shore power or generator, otherwise all your 12v needs are from the battery--including the inverter itself that is making the 120v.
On shore power or gen, you converter is supposed to make the 12v instead of the battery. If you do have an inverter/charger combo, then the charger part of that will be doing the 12v stuff and you don't need the converter at all.
So what do you really have?
